My J. crew Outfit of the day

A happy day today for the sun is shining outside.  It is summertime already.  Bye bye for those heavy outerwears and jackets and hello to shorts and sleveless dresses and tops. So here's my mix of jcrew staples which I purchased online from their spring sale section.  The top is J.Crew's Cotton oxford tuxedo shirt . 

My take on this shirt:  I love it.  It has a boyish yet sexy appeal without overtrying.  You can wear it with belt as shown above , with shorts, leggings or skinny jeans.  The tuxedo pleats detailting adds something to a yet normal shirt and the fact that it is well-made.  The belt is also from jcrew but it's sold out already.  I  prefer wearing this shirt with a belt because it is a little boxy looking if wore alone.  It helps cinched up your waist.

Now for the bottom: J.Crew's Watercolor Lily Short.  My take:  I balanced the boyish shirt with this feminine shorts.  Love the pattern and the fit. It is TTS.   I wear it in size 2 for a more relaxed fit. 

I snagged this one for $19 as well as the tuxedo shirt.

My conclusion:  I recommend both items.

Chic Obssessions

Well, it has been long since my last posting here with blogger.  I have been doing some shopping to revamp my wardrobe especially since spring has just kicked off.  My latest obssessions as i call it are the ones from
j. crew and club monaco.  Last week i found this Josephine sweater dress from club monaco from their January 2010 issue.  It was priced for $189 and I got it for just $29 after all the extra discounts.  I love the dress so much.  And another also from club monaco is this nadine cardigan on sale for $35 from 140.  It looks looks very cute with skinny jeans. Chic and sophisticated finds but not the hefty price.  I am getting used to that now, i mean what's two to three months of waiting if the price is slushed to that extent.  Well that's how it works here in NY.  Maybe because of the competition between various retailers and the fact that they change their inventory every season.  Well, it New York..that's what they are known for.

Ok now, i am itching on buying almost all of their ballet flat shoes.  They just look so adorable.  I have one already and another two coming up.  I have it in  marjorie suede , marjorie metallic leather,  shimmerveil leather ballet flats.  The marjorie suede is on sale right now for $69 plus additional 30% discount on that and the shimmerveil is priced 99 plus 30% discount also.

I have also puchased from jcrew their on sale cardigans.  They have it from cotton to merino to wool and to cashemere.  The thing about their cardigans is that they fit perfectly to the right place and the color palette.  It feels like the spring has sprung, LOL.   I am a size 0 to 2 so i usually picked the xs size.

Jason Wu Strapless Cocktail dress

Everybody is buzzing about the fashion week..but i can't get you into details about it because i did not witness it myself.  My sources  of information came from fellow bloggers and media.  They talk about the best designs and craftmanship of a particular designer and that it is now intended for the consumers than ever before.  Justin Timberlake said in an interview that most of the designs he witnessed there is not something that you won't see after the show because it is wearable not just for models but also for ordinary folks. 

Your favorite brand of lipstick

I'm actually using for now an Yves Saint Laurent for the lips and thingking of switching to Chanel Rouge Allure.  I've heard great reviews about it especially the number 14 called passion. The color is red with blue undertones.  I'm yet ro try it.  It's about the same price as the YSL..around $30. It might be a bit pricey for others but it's worth it.

Don't you guys love Tory Burch? I'm always finding myself browsing their website for new arrivals from their tunics, fierce stilettos, and my fave section, their handbags. I’ve got two of them already and another one (image above) arriving tomorrow. I just feel the need to share this to you guys. It’s a pre-valentine gift from my man. Spring 2010 Fashion Trend..

Bows, bows, bows...You see them in every department store in almost every women's section. Bow tops, shoes, dresses with bows, accessories with bow detailing and etc... Yes, it looks cute and sophisticated but not to the extreme that people who wears it look ridiculous. It may look good in runaway models at runaway shows but strutting them in the real world per se is just odd. I think people just need moderation. But don’t get me wrong I’m not against to this bow trend thing, in fact I covet them if they are presented in a minimalistic way. Not one of those super huge bow details. Well, it is just one person’s sentiment. How about you guys?

My shopping find of the day!!!

Do you have that same feeling when you shop and see this chic and just perfect skirt hanging there in the rack but then again you thought …”hmmm, not now, I’ll wait until it gets on sale”. Right, then you don’t have to pay that much, though there is a downside, it’s the last season’s collection already. But if looking chic and fab is what you are after for then you gotta be practical sometimes when budget is tight.  Yup…I’m talking about myself. I went to Club Monaco earlier today and found this voguish navy skirt that I was drooling over three months ago. You can’t imagine how much the price had dropped. I bought it for $19 dollars from its’ original price of 120. Great find isn’t it? It’s not my first time though shopping in club Monaco...I’ve had good finds there and definitely will go again. How about you?

Shopaholic Girl

Finding an avenue to explore my knowledge seems a little barred. I have less interaction with people in the outside world. It has been three years with no job, but happy and contented just being a pretty housewife. Joking aside, I mean myself of being pretty… though it’s true, I have been obsessed lately or maybe the term “obsession” is somewhat exaggerated or overwhelming to one’s ears…I am a shopaholic. But don’t take me as being feckless or irresponsible; I only do the actual shopping when our means permit. There are countless name-brand stores out there waiting for my husband’s hard earned money. My story may seem familiar to you if you have watched the movie “Confessions of a Shopaholic” starred by Isla Fisher. Shopping makes me feel good. The blood in my veins is gushing through my cheeks right now, like a teenager giggling while a cute and handsome boy passes by. It’s so hard to explain it in words…maybe you can.
